It has been awhile since I have blogged.  I am very sorry!!! The summer has been crazy like I am sure it has been for most of you. With summer coming to an end and fall just a few short weeks away, I thought I would take this time and change up my blog a bit.  While blogging about food, I was also blogging about my other passion in life, my dog Roxie! My husband and I don’t have kids yet, so Roxie is our baby.  We love to take her everywhere.  So in effort to make sure we can take Roxie to every park, beach, restaurant and bar, I started a blog about all the great dog-friendly places in our city.  But, life has been getting crazy lately, so I decided to marry my two blogs together.  I was already writing about a lot of great restaurants that were dog-friendly and giving my un-biased opinion about the food at these places, so I said why not just incorporate some of my food reviews at a lot of the great dog-friendly places in our city into my current food blog.  I figured a lot of my readers have dogs and may want to know about some great dog-friendly places in the Orlando area.

Roxie and her Daddy

I thought it would be fitting that my first blog in my new format be about a Food Truck event in the Orlando area that is not only dog-friendly, but will also have a food truck selling pet treats.  This Sunday, Sunday September 11, 10am – 4pm at the Nube Nove Salon parking lot at 717 E.Washington St. in Thornton Park, Sit’n Stay Pet Café will make their food truck debut. Sit’n Stay Pet Cafe sells all-natural and organic, homemade pet treats and doggie ice cream. Even the packaging is biodegradable.  How awesome is that.  Since this will be Sit’n Stay Pet Café’s first food truck event, they will just be out there handing out samples.  You better believe Roxie will be getting her fair share of samples.  I really hope their treats are good and reasonable priced.  If so, I will definitely support the Sit’n Stay Pet Café truck.  So if you have nothing to do on Sunday, September 11, I hope to see you at the Nube Nove Salon in Thorton Park supporting all the local food trucks in the Orlando area. I will definitely take photos and let you know how Roxie liked the treats!

Honey-Apple Pup-Cake

Speaking of the food truck craze, I love seeing all the food truck events in the area.  They are at a lot of the local farmers markets and even at local Mall parking lots on the weekends.  My work has even gotten into the craze.  Our HR department has contacted a lot of the local food trucks and has made a deal that every Wednesday a different food truck sit in our parking lot during lunch.  It has been fun sampling all the different food trucks in the area, especially since I don’t really have any place to go for lunch near my work!

As part of my new format you will also see lots of homemade dog biscuit recipes.  I have always wanted to open my own dog bakery.  Just maybe I will join the food truck craze with my own mobile dog bakery!

Does your city support the food truck craze? If so, which is your favorite food truck in your area? Give a shout out to them and link to their Facebook or Twitter page so everyone can learn about all the great food truck vendors across the country!  I will start! My favorite food truck vendor is Big Wheel.  Follow them on Facebook and Twitter.

Happy Labor Day!
